My names Francesca Ford, I’m 17 and am an Apprentice here at Evans Jones working towards my Level 3 Business Administration qualification through assisting the sales and marketing team.
I started here two weeks ago and am already thoroughly enjoying the experience, along with learning so many new, beneficial things for my future. When I first started, I was initially anxious about being in an environment which I have never worked in before. However, as soon I began my induction, I was immediately relieved how friendly and welcoming the whole team was.
My apprenticeship began with an introduction to how the online system space runs and how I will gain my qualification. Throughout the weeks I was set with different tasks ranging from data cleansing, gathering quotes for products and attended training programmes regarding how to communicate and start conversations with clients.
During my time here I’ve been able to gain skills that previously I had little exposure to such as connecting with clients, working through Excel spreadsheets, going to meetings and using the online system. All these tasks are leading me to build up my practical skills and knowledge around the subject area whilst gaining first hand exposure to a professional working environment. This is very advantageous for my future and should allow me to gain expertise and experiences above my age range.
After I successfully complete my Level 3 apprenticeship, I would be very interested in going into to another, higher level apprenticeship as I believe working whilst gaining experience is invaluable and opens so many possibilities. I’m not certain in what this would be, but I know it will be in the real estate sector. Whether this is commercial, residential, planning, selling or negotiation every day I am learning more and more to help shape my future and discover what I want to do.
