Evans Jones was contracted by the developer Robert Hitchins to oversee a multi-million-pound development of a mixed-use 3300ms single-story building with a garden centre attached, including 205 car parking spaces, service connections, landscaping and drainage.
- Location:
- Quedgeley
Due to the nature of two different end users on the site, a national retailer and gym chain, the overall project timeline was critical due to their tight opening and operational programmes.
The existing buildings on site had to be demolished, there were planning challenges to overcome as one of the facilities was 24/7 and permission was initially refused, and time and supply pressure from pandemic delays.
The Results:
Evans Jones planned, coordinated, controlled, and reported on all aspects of the project and had to ensure that everything was in place to enable construction to proceed and targets were met.
This helped facilitate the regeneration of a brownfield site, which had remained unoccupied for a number of years, bringing much-needed retail and leisure facilities and job opportunities to Kingsway, a fast-growing residential development.
