The Business in Gloucestershire (BIG) Golf Society held its latest charity golf day on Friday 13th September to raise vital funds for Great Western Air Ambulance.
Since it was founded, BIG has raised over £30,000 for local charities including Maggie’s, the Pied Piper Appeal, LINC and Gloucestershire Young Carers. Friday’s golf day was no exception with £1400 raised for the Great Western Air Ambulance, a fantastic charity who help save the lives of critically ill and injured people across the region.
The latest event, hosted by Evans Jones, was held on Friday 13th September at Lilley Brook Golf Club, Cheltenham. Local professionals from across Gloucestershire, including representatives from BPE Solicitors, Knights PLC, Hazlewoods, Elliot Oliver Lettings and Tyack Architects, came together to enjoy a game of golf whilst raising money for a great cause.
Founder of BIG, Ian Eggleton, Director at Evans Jones, said: “We had a great day with 8 teams out on the course supporting our local air ambulance. We were lucky with the weather and enjoyed sun and blue skies throughout the day. BIG is a great opportunity for networking and I urge any local businesses who enjoy a round of golf to get in touch.”
Lamorna Hooker, Fundraising Assistant at Great Western Air Ambulance, said: “The Great Western Air Ambulance Charity (GWAAC) are so grateful to have been chosen by Evans Jones as the Charity Partner for their Golf Day. GWAAC receives no day-to-day funding from the Government or National Lottery, so the money raised at the Golf Day will go toward enabling us to continue saving lives. The support Evans Jones has given us really is so valuable, and we look forward to working with them in the future."
