The new Parkers sixth form boarding house and study centre at West Buckland School in Devon was officially opened this week by HRH the Earl of Wessex during his tour of the school.
Evans Jones completed the project management of the boarding house in August 2015. The build programme took place over 12 months and has created a range of impressive new facilities for pupils returning to the school for the Autumn term.
The study centre is built over two floors and houses a library, new classrooms, open plan study spaces, IT resources and a higher education and careers area. Sixth form students will also have their own dedicated study area on the upper floor.
The 70 room boarding house will provide sixth form boarding students with single en suite rooms along with a variety of vibrant social areas.
Project Manager Ian Eggleton, Director of Building and Project Consultancy at Evans Jones, said:
"Both client, contractors and consultants have worked together to achieve a fantastic end result delivered two weeks early allowing plenty of time to set up ready for the new term."
