Evans Jones offered a unique event, with professional mountaineer and motivational speaker, Kenton Cool in attendance.
Held on Thursday 27th February, the Evans Jones annual client evening took a different form this year with local businesses being entertained by guest speaker Kenton Cool whilst enjoying drinks & fine dining in Cheltenham’s Schmidt Kitchens showroom.
Attendees included representatives from Cheltenham Ladies College, Boo Homes, Portman Dental Group, SPM Homes, Bromford, Robert Hitchins, Evoke Transport Planning, RRA Architects, Harrison Clark Rickerbys and Quattro Design as well as clients and friends of Schmidt.
Over 100 guests were welcomed with a glass of prosecco before being free to browse the range of culinary delights on offer. Local food and drink suppliers were set up in the various kitchens throughout the showroom, so there was something for everyone to enjoy.
Photos from the evening can be viewed here.
The Cocktail Service were showing off their mixology skills and creating fantastic drinks including 'The Kenton Cooler' and 'Snow Tops'.
Food Expert and BBC Masterchef Finalist, Ben Axford was showing guests how to create, shape and fill their own fresh pasta before demonstrating his ‘show dish’ of sage infused pan-fried tenderloin pork, celeriac purée, savoy crisp, black pudding croquette, apple butter reduction.
Local chocolatiers, Costello + Hellerstein provided an array of chocolate delights for guests to sample including hazelnut praline, chocolate orange, ruby chocolate and sea salted caramel truffles.
Tonbo Japanese Kitchen rolled fresh sushi and prepared tempura on site as delicious canapes before providing the main catering of the evening.
Bath Road Beers were on hand with a great selection of beers to sample, as well as being the primary drinks suppliers at the event.
Kenton Cool, professional adventurer and mountaineer, took to the stage around 7pm to talk about his experiences climbing Everest and the associated risk and reward involved in his profession. He delighted speakers with his enchanting stories, including one particularly amusing and inspiring anecdote about Mr Miura, the man who skied down Everest. He inspired his audience to take risk, be bold and most importantly remember that people and relationships are at the heart of everything we do.
A raffle was held in aid of both The Chamwell Centre & The Brain Tumour Charity with some fantastic prizes being won including signed Kenton Cool books, Costello + Hellerstein goodies, a Bath Road Beers hamper, a fine dining experience, and much more.
David Jones, Managing Director of Evans Jones, said “Each and every year we try to find a new way to entertain and thank our clients. By partnering with Schmidt this year, we were able to offer something truly unique for all to enjoy. The event was a huge success and very well supported, it was great to be able to catch up with our friends and clients from local businesses, as well as meet many new faces”.
